CALVIN KLEIN - California Youth PSP 2019
I was designing and creating the vision of the first Calvin Klein Kids collection which was launched in Pre-Spring 2019.
Inspired by the californian skate youth in the 70's and Raf Simons Calvin Klein 205W39NYC Spring 19 collection we developed a strong kids identity for the Calvin Klein lifestyle. We have looked at modernist thinkers like Blinky Palermo and artists from the Californian Ferus movement, particulary Ken Prices colour exploration in his paintings. His artworks are reinvented and translated into our own skate inspired graphics.
Shapes are taken from iconic symbols of american youth:
The striped tube sock, the cheerleader and classic american utilitarian workwear and the 90's CK archival khaki looks. I have been working on the concept inspiration and vision of the line as well as designing the collection.
